Key Italian Language Certifications Include:
- Professional Certificates
- CIC® (Certificato di Conoscenza della lingua italiana): This certification evaluates proficiency in Italian used in a professional context and is aimed at intermediate to advanced levels.
- DCL®: A professional diploma from the National Education that assesses the candidate’s general knowledge and ability to use Italian in professional situations. It acknowledges levels from A2 to C1.
- Higher Education Certificates
- CILS® (Certificazione Di Italiano Come Lingua Straniera): Awarded by the University of Siena and certified by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this certificate has six levels and is intended for those wishing to study (level B2) or work in Italy.
- CELI® (Certificato di Conoscenza della lingua italiana): Organized by the University of Perugia, this certification is divided into five levels, from beginner to experienced, and provides access to universities (CELI 3). It is also highly recognized by companies across all sectors in Italy.
